some news

Company update:
Star and Trevor have joined us this term.
Toby and Trevor, Star with Kerry and Zoe
Katie is on an Art and Design course at college this year ,we hope to see her when we work other days.        Tina has moved on to other things and we wish her well.
Carly can't make Fridays but still comes to 2 groups a week; Friends and Dancing and Penryn Improvisation and Performance group.

I hope this will inspire me to develop more performances and opportunities for the Penryn group, which started in it's inspiring new home last week, with some new faces.

A plug for Kim's exciting project.....http://powow-projectoperaworksforolderwomen.blogspot.com.

The art in the afternoon with some of the main company is a lovely quiet way to end the week and ease into the weekend. It has so much potential, and the group that stay are holding the creative space with their inspiration and ideas. This last week saw Eddie working on a self portrait, Zoe on a film idea, and Toby has been bringing in exercises and sharing his approach and ways of working.

Snap shots from art with some of the main company last week.

quotes

"What is passion? It is surely the becoming of a person. Are we not, for
most of our lives, marking time? Most of our being is at rest, unlived. In
passion, the body and the spirit seek expression outside the self. Passion
is all that is other from self. ..The more extreme and the more expressed
that passion is, the more unbearable does life seem without it. [This]
reminds us that if passion dies or is denied, [then] we are partly dead and
that soon.. we will be wholly so."
quote by British film director John Boorman

Reading through sensible and sequential fund writing information, part of my spirit shrinks,
it is necessary to keep tabs on money, do sensible planning, to be accountable,

but where is the art inspiration if it is all thought through from the begining,
 you risk diminshing "it".
"It" is the important part the something other.
"It" is not always sequential,in fact rarely,
and what you do is create a space for the something "other" to happen,
for people to contact something greater than, universal, beyond themselves....

This quote was sent by Jamie Moran who wrote the article on PIna.

I am still in avoidance and my desk beckons, with sequential tasks awaiting me,
but have enjoyed doing a hand written application!- no boxes..
and no way of removing odd box on blog!! as yet

end of the holidays ?!

Marjorie and Zoe

Zoe, Kerry, Linda and Marjorie
Well, still working to avoid work and blogging! but this is more a slight celebration as have just nearly finished an application that interrupted my short holidays, which is my excuse for the family photo!
beginning to see my personnal pitfalls with writing more clearly..and enjoying the clarity to organising events bid writing can bring,
even if unsuccessful with the money side there is normally something one can salvage from the process and feed into the creative world, and new or extending creative relationships, which is my main priority being by description a facilitator and artistic director, not fund raiser or bid writer!

Looking forward to our Art afternoons this coming term!
Well, it's very near the end of the holidays and this is our dog Polly, with Anna and Luke (who both still attend Shallal, so they can be on our blog! though Luke only attends occassionally now he can talk!! ) they are running over the brow of a favourite hill by the Helford.
